We are not so patiently awaiting snow, see #14 above! The ski hill opened on Saturday but not all the runs so we need it to get cold and snow! Griffin is trying out for the Winter games this year so he will be at the hill for the next 2 weekends practicing before tryouts on the 13th! Cross all your crossable parts for him. I'm going to Jessica's school today for lunch that they are cooking in home ec! It's nice to be served like that! Paige is working really hard to get on Santa's nice list because she says she's on his naughty list! I've been trying to tell her that she is on his nice list but she insists so hey I'll go with it if it means she's being extra good!! LOL, does that make me a bad Mama? Oh really who cares I'm having fun with it! She also told her brother and sister they were on the naughty list because "they have been fighting a real lot lately and so that means they are Naughty"!

I just wanted to share a quick picture with you! My Dad was pilot a WestJet and when he passed away they dedicated a plane to him so if any of you fly WestJet look and see if your on his plane, your in good hands! Thats my Dad's wife Goldie in the cockpit window, Love that girl!! ;)

How to begin....

It's tough to post on here again when I look at the date of my last post it was the day before my life would be forever changed. Feburary 17 was an ordinary day in my life then as the afternoon of the 18th was coming to an end my whole world seemed to stop. It was about 4:30 pm and my Dad called to say he was in the hospital, I actually thought he was joking but unfortunately he wasn't. It is so hard to put any of this into words. So just over 8 months ago I received his phone call and 6 months ago this past week he passed away with us by his side at the tender age of 59. This was a man so full of life, laughter and love that it is still unbelievable to me that he is gone. 2 months of absolute frustration, sadness and disbelief was no way to end his 59 years. I wish you all could have known him and those of you who did know him I hope you knew him like I did. It is so very hard to know that I can't pick up the phone and call my Dad or I won't get a card with his name signed on it on my birthday, when I hear a jet fly over I think of my Dad, there are so many reminders every day that he is no longer here on this earth but I still talk to him everyday, I know he wished me a Happy Birthday and with every jet that flies over I believe he is on the wing watching out for all of us. The world was a better place with him in it, I only hope that God has greater plans for him. I miss you always Dad.

Griffin got his new glasses on Friday and a new haircut!! He loves his glasses but thinks his haircut makes him look like someone from Weezer, LOL I didn't even know who Weezer was!! I am so out of touch!! So I youtubed it and now I know who they are!! I get how he thinks that but really he is so very cute don't you think!!??

Got some scrapping done this weekend so I will post those later, it felt good to do something again! I look at all the stuff I have and clean my space every week but don't find the time to use it, that is just silliness!! So I am going to create something every week, I can't commit to any more than that but at least once a week is a good start! Any scrappin goals for you this year????

So Kimmie shared this cool site on her blog and being that I am technologically challenged I was so excited. Check it out ~ HERE !! So that is how I got this neat looking blog!!! Enjoy!!

I am also very excited about a Stampin Company I recently discovered through all the blog hopping I do. Check it out Unity !!! I have placed 3 orders already as my SIL gave me a fab gift certificate for them for Christmas!!! I can't wait to get my goodies!! And although I haven't used their stamps yet I am already addicted, Angela's blog is fantastic and they are a really fun bunch with a regular weekly blog hop and a Hip Hop day that you can learn more about on Angela's blog, both take place every Thursday!! They also have a group at Split Coast Stampers!! You must stop by and take a look!!!

Although Christmas is over that doesn't mean winter is!! The kids were at our local ski hill this weekend having a blast. It was Paige's very first time on ski's and I think she's a natural, she was so cute crouched down just a zoomin down the hill. It was also Jessica's first time snowboarding, she loved it until she did a half face plant, half chest plant - she needs to learn to fall better!!!! Griffin is also having a great time snowboarding this year, he says it beats hockey anyday!!!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!!! If your looking for some inspiration check this site out, WCMD blog tour !!! Hope your all busy making your cards, I made 4 today. The girls each had a Birthday to go to so I made those, I made a thank you card for some great friends of ours and then I made a Christmas one. Here's the Thank You I did:

It is for our friends who were kind enough to take us out in their boat on Cold Lake, after being here 2 years this is the first time we've actually been out on it in a boat and it was beautiful, calm and the colours of the trees were awesome. Then we went back to their house for a late supper, the kids played outside in the dark and we all had a great time. It was such a nice evening!!

Well it looks like fall is officially here, the temperature is starting to drop and I'm feeling sad that I may have to put my basket of flip flops away so if anyone has any recipes for a warm drink on a crisp fall night I'd love it if you'd share!! Thats one thing I LOVE about the fall, when the days start to get shorter and I can curl up in my favorite blanket with a pumpkin candle going and a nice hot drink to warm me! I'm a tea drinker but I also love a creamy hot chocolate or Chai sadly we don't have a Starbucks here but I'm always up for a homemade version of something yummy!!! Cheers~

After reading this post by my friend Patti it made me remember this post by Layle which then got me off to ebay and lookie what I found - Drowsy !! I remember her so well only mine was blue and I can't seem to find a blue one but a pink one will do just fine!! So I am putting her on my Christmas list because really I don't need anything and I can't justify spending a $100 on her but I really think it would be awesome to have her!! I had mine up until Jessica was little, then her string got broke and I must have gotten rid of her - poor Drowsy how could I have discarded her like that!! Anyhoo if anyone wants to put a bug in my dear husbands ear feel free!! LOL!!

Dry Erase Board!

I found this fab idea here and just had to make one! I decided to make mine so my wall colour shows through a bit of the glass, used some foo-fa-la & SU rub-ons and Scenic Route paper and letter stickers!!! You can write notes on the glass and just erase it when you want to change it!! It would be cool to change the paper out for each season!! I wrote "Be Thankful" on mine but my camera is dead so no pic of it with writing. If your looking for an easy Christmas Gift for someone this might be it!!! tfs!!

I hadn't but a few weeks ago I came accross an article on the net about it. So now I am hooked on Lindsie's blog . Check it out!!! Someday....hopefully....I'll be a flashpacker!! I will be much older than Lindsie and Curtis by the time I'm there - 4 year until the first one leaves home and about 13 until the last one leaves so I could very well be a Grandma by the time I get to travel but hey I'll be a cool Flashpacking Granny!!!!

A Fall Walk!!

Paige had her first field trip of her Kindy year, a Fall Walk in the Provincial Park! It was a great time, beautiful weather, crunchy leaves, those great fall smells & colours and about 60 5 year olds running amuck!! Here's a pic of Miss Paige, so sweet!!

I read so many blogs that are scrap related and wonder where does everyone find the time...if you have any tips please share them!!! Anyway here is a blog I've found through another blog that I just love, she has great ideas, full of inspiration...Mish Mash

It is still hard to watch the tele on September 11th as the scenes from this tragic event are played over and over...I pray for the lives lost, for their families, for the survivors, for the heros and all who were touched by this day! And I give thanks for all the blessings in my life..

I'm having so much fun this weekend scrapping!!! Did this one of Griffin using my favoritist manufacturer - Scenic Route, I actually won this line on Layle's blog! If you haven't visited you really should, she's full of inspiration and she's so sweet and funny!! The second pic is of the same LO but I layered the pics so the first pic lifts up to reveal a closer up version of the first one!

On this LO of Paige's first day of K I used a manufacturer I had never used before and I must say I am in Love- Little Yellow Bicycle's Delightful line!! Such girly, feminine papers I was so happy to find them.

I can't believe how fast the weekend seems to go! I thought one was supposed to be rested after the weekend but for some reason I'm more exhausted than when it started! Oh well maybe next weekend!! We had to take our pool down today so that's always an interesting task. It's one of those 18 ft. round soft sided ones and once we take it down we stuff it into a deck box which is really not near big enough for itbut after about 6 tries before we get it folded right. It really must be quite a sight. Anyway the biggest job of the season is done, just a few odds and ends to do in the yard and we'll just be waiting for the first snowflake!!

I finally did some scrapping! Printed out the kids back 2 school pics and got Jessica's done this afternoon. It finally hit me tonite and I had a few tears, I'm just not ready for her to grow up! Her girlfriend was asked out by 2 boys today and Jessica was so excited for her???? They're only 14???? Jessica knows she is not allowed to date yet but still I'm just not ready for them to be asking her!!

Anyway here's the LO I did of her!!

On the note of Scrapbooking, have you seen the new Canadian Scrapbooker! Some great stuff in there! My friend Holly has some LO's in there, she rocks. And my Mom is in one of the LO's done by a neighbour of hers. Unfortunately you can't really make her out but I know your there Mom and your famous in my eyes!! LOL!! Well off to get my Paige to bed, she's sick, then if you need me I'll be in my Scrapzone.....

First day of Kindy!!

Well Paige's first day went off without any tears until she came home with the craft they made - The Kissing Hand!! It was a poem and her hand print and I couldn't get by the first line without crying!! LOL!! But by the end of the night I had read the whole thing and it now hangs proudly on the fridge!!! Check her out, isn't she cute????

Where does the time go!!?? Really 5 years old already, tomorrow she starts Kindy and I really think maybe I should have had one more!! LOL!! I hope Dana doesn't read that, he already thinks I'm Coo-Coo!!! Paige had a great birthday though, at the end of the day when I asked her if she had a good b-day she said "Yes Mommy and the basement didn't even flood!" Last year on her b-day the basement flooded so it wasn't the best b-day!!! So here's a couple pics of her with the sunflowers she grew and with her cake, please don't laugh, I realized yesterday that I am NOT Martha Stewart - it came as quit a blow but I'm coping alright!! Have a great day!!!

Back To School Again!!

Well today was the first day of school for Jessica and Griffin! I dropped them both off with no tears, yes Mom not even whenI dropped Jessica off!!!! I of course did not go into the highschool with her but felt a bit sad as I drove away, highschool is a whole new ball game and I just hope she is better behaved than I was! LOL!!

LOL!! I'm not sure why this is a Christmas song, it really should be an end of summer/back to school song if you ask most Moms. I actually think that if you listen really closely on the first day of school you will probably hear the tune being hummed right across the country!! It doesn't mean your a bad Mom, it's okay to admit it or at least have a little bit of fun with it!!

So this year is a year of first for us. Paige is off to Kindergarten this year, full days 4 days a week so that will be a big change. She's not really looking forward to it yet but I know once she's there she'll love it. I'm not sure what she will take for lunches as she's a peanut butter sandwich girl and the school is peanut free, she should eat supper really well!!! Griffin is going into grade 6, still in the middle school, so no transition for him this year. He has chosen to not play hockey this year though and is taking up snowboarding instead, he's going to have a blast. Jessica is starting highschool, YIKES, I'm so not ready for that!!! I think she is though, her and her bff are in all the same core classes so they were pretty excited about that. She'll do great in her last 4 years.
